Jamie Farmer has every reason to have a love for music. In fact, he grew up around the memorable harmonies of his family singing around the piano.
Jamie continued singing while in high school and college. He even gained priceless experience traveling around the nation while singing in several small ensembles during those formidable years.
Jamie gained knowledge of the inner workings of being a minister who travels the weekends by traveling to various schools and churches while a young man.
"I was raised in church, and I gave my heart to the Lord in the 7th grade," said Jamie. "I grew up around the piano singing harmonies with my family. I would not trade those experiences for the world."
In 1997, Jamie joined his father's quartet, New Dawn . New Dawn was simply a local group who traveled to area churches and sang at Sunday night singings, revivals, and camp meetings. Jamie became with the traditional quartet styles during his tenure with the group.
Jamie has had the privilege of singing solos for local county-wide associational revivals along with an orchestra and choir from 20 or so nearby churches. After entering a soloist division at a talent search, Jamie was offered a position in Exalted , the group hosting the event.
"After a while, I still felt a calling to go back to a solo ministry," recalled Farmer. "I firmly believe this is where the Lord wants me to be, and I pray that I can be used by Him in this ministry."
With that urging, Jamie embarked once again on his solo ministry after spending a year with Exalted .
"I consider this to be my calling in life," said Jamie, "one that I have ignored for far too long. I continue to pray for the Lord to open doors for me, that I may go through them and follow His will."
Jamie's purpose is simple.
"I just lift up the name of Christ by sharing His love through song and encourage the believer while evangelizing to the lost," stated Jamie.
